Recruitment / Application for J-E Translator
« Last post by HorcruxMaximus on August 04, 2015, 02:52:50 AM »
Country: United States of America

Reason for Joining: As a supplement to my Japanese studies + interest in anime / manga.  I'm studying for the JLPT N4 exam this December and plan to work and live in Japan within the next couple of years, so I think joining as a translator would help me hone my reading comprehension skills while also getting to do something enjoyable.  It'd also be nice to help other people be able to read works they wouldn't have the ability to on their own!

Time I can spare:  I work full-time in the IT industry.  Realistically will only have perhaps 2-3 hours per week.  BUT since I already spend some time studying Japanese anyways this can replace that some of the time.

Recruitment / Application for J-E translator
« Last post by A Mighty Spork on March 31, 2015, 08:53:18 AM »
Where: UK native, currently based near London.

Why: Several reasons ranging from the fairly frivolous to slightly more serious.  I was enjoying Hozuki-San and his suffering so the lack of a translator makes me want to get off my ass and give it a go.  I'm also pretty aware that lately compared to my spoken Japanese my written Japanese is atrophying through a general lack of use and this seems a good excuse to stretch it and maybe learn a few new words.  My level of Japanese is ok but not fluent outside of daily use, I've also got the advantage of a native speaker in the house in case of emergency.

Realistically I am not going to be giving up more than 5 hours a week since I have kids/job etc eating up most of it.

I would like to join your group because I had seen that you were letting go of witch craft works, and it caught my interest. I am also in college attempting to muddle through the Japanese language and the practice would be beneficial to me.
As for time I am a full time student with a part time job and therefore my hours are limited however, this is something that I can be passionate about and would hopefully be able to spend 4 to 5 hours a week if not more depending on my workload for the week. I am in my first semester so translating will most likely take me longer but I am willing to put in the work for it.
Thank you for your consideration.

- I've made a post before about my application, but i missed the test 3, so i deleted
the previous applicattion, and did this post with all tests together.

- I'm from Espirito Santo, Brazil

- I like to read manga a lot, so i would like to help with the releases.
I also work with photoshop, so this is a kind of gaining experience/practice for futures jobs

- Actually I can spend 2-4 hours on mondays, wednesdays and fridays. (Depending on my day duties,
this period can be extended. On the others days i can work 5-8 hours. (Depending on my day duties,
the weekdays can extended too)

- I'm between works now and undergoing some courses, so my time schedule can modify in the future,
but i don't preview any changes for the next two months. (in case of change, i will warn the staff)

United States

I saw that you wanted proofreaders for Aneki + Imouto, so I figured I would try out.

I spend most of my day on the computer, so my hours can really vary depending on what I'm doing. I should be contactable through most of the day.

I know mediafire is preferred, but puush is a lot easier with the direct download. Here you go!: http://puu.sh/8ZGTT.txt
